Some people probably couldn’t live like I do, but this wasteland is home, with its dry soil and rocky terrain.
I was born during this time of death and destruction. The apocalypse, as some called it.
This life is the only one I’ve ever known.
Unlike others that lived before this dangerous time period and had to change their whole lifestyle.
I guess I’m lucky in a sense that I didn’t lose everything.
Yet I’m unlucky because I was born during this time of hardship. Where there is now law, and anything, or anyone could kill you.
I can’t complain though. At least I’m alive.
That’s all that matters right now.
I’ll do anything to stay alive.
I like it. Short and simple I know, but it's a good way to start. I like how you place yourself in a position like your actually as a wasteland survivor. I couldn't help but think of video games like "Borderlands" and "Fallout" When I read this, but thats just the gamer in me lol. Keep writing, I think you'd be an awesome fiction writer :)
